FASHION & STYLE
With this article and photo shoot, I wanted to bring you pure creativity with a futuristic and artistic touch. Creativity is my daily motivation, being able to produce new and inspiring material, gathering great pieces from talented designers, and delivering a one-of-a-kind ambiance and atmosphere through special visuals. I believe that there are no limitations to creativity, except for the ones we put in place.
There is no guideline for style; there is no mold you must fit in. There is only the vision you have, your taste, your ability to mix together piece and styles, to bring something new and different.
To dress is a way to say who you are without having to speak
Here, I wanted to express my passion for creation, difference, eccentricity and impressive style. In the end, attitude is one of the most important aspects because it is all about the energy you put into what you wear that brings it to life. Of course the items worn and their design, material and shape are important, but two people can wear something similar while looking completely different because of their attitude.
My advice on the matter: Just be who you are. Everyone else is already taken, and the only way to bring a new dimension to your world is to stay entirely true to yourself. Find inspiration from those around you, news you’re reading, movies you’re watching, but in the end add your own flair to make your style come across as something authentic. Part of fashion is bringing new energy to items designed by someone else. We’re all unique and so is our style.
I’ve also been putting my own energy into styling unique looks with a bit of inspiration from Monte-Carlo’s beautiful Boulingrin gardens and the super-modern Pavilions (more information about this area on my last article here “Monte-Carlo Shopping”). Modeling as a couple can come across as more elegant sometimes, and I wanted to express a special thanks to my stunning partner in this shoot, Elizabeth Smith, who added a charming and sophisticated touch to the photos. With her sharp style and classic black-and-white ensemble, Liz was the perfect partner to deliver this explosive mix of strong and glamorous style that I had in mind.
Let me give you a bit of backstory on what we’re wearing here. I mixed the timeless elegance of Louis Vuitton‘s accessories with a futuristic jacket made by French designer Patrice Papa, who has a boutique in Monaco. What I love about this look is how it mixes such extreme styles, highlighting both something classic with something you may not have heard of before to showcase a new fashion line.
The story behind the jacket is simple: My friend Patrice is a talented haute couture dress designer and one day when I was visiting his showroom, I discovered an amazing piece—this dress jacket. I fell in love with the model and asked if it was possible to transform it into a menswear piece. The one you see in the photoshoot is actually a prototype and we are working on a finalized shape that will serve as both a suit and coat for winter.
As for the Louis Vuitton pieces, they make the style look sharp, more put together and add that je ne sais quoi we’re all searching for. On the jacket, the brooch says “Voyagez”, which means travel, adding that unique touch of style and invitation to travel.
For eyewear, I rocked a pair of classic aviator sunglasses, “Conspiration pilote mesh”, known for their timeless design but also sporting an avant-garde twist thanks to the mesh-look metal on the top bar and temples
A small touch that really sets this look apart is the timepiece: the Escale Time Zone. An original and colorful design inspired by the brand’s trunks, this distinctive timepiece features a new 24 time zone movement, specially developed by Louis Vuitton at their “Fabrique du Temps.” I’ve worn a number of timepieces from some of the most prestigious watchmakers, but this watch really is one-of-a-kind, featuring an elegant, ultra-thin 39 mm case made of stainless brushed steel; a gray alligator strap with yellow velvet-touch calfskin lining; a 42-hour power reserve; and sapphire glass with reflection-proof coating. Best of all, it’s a very original and colorful way to look at the time on your wrist.
On my other wrist I wore an elegant bracelet made of Taïga leather and silver steel, the perfect addition to my masculine style. The boots, probably my favorite item in the entire look, were the “Sword Ankle Boots.”
Casual yet still chic in style, the boots are made of glazed calf leather that look both dapper and edgy with their three-tone outsole visible from the side. Wearing them will make your style appear confident and strong, while adding a touch of elegance and refinement. The Louis Vuitton logo stays discrete and is embossed on the outsole. I definitely recommend them.
I couldn’t finish this look without throwing in one item that represents Louis Vuitton’s trunkmaking roots—the “Alzer 60” suitcase. A classic Louis Vuitton piece, spacious and incredibly sturdy, it represents the pure notion of travel in the most elegant way. Its monogram canvas and rounded leather handles inspire a jetset lifestyle and will definitely add a touch of glamour into your next trip.
