Despite its small superficy, Monaco has plenty of prestigious and luxurious treasures to offer, some of them more hidden than others.
I was recently after this “something hidden” element, searching for the perfect suite in Monaco for a relaxing stay either solo or with a friend. That’s how I decided on the prestigious Hermitage hotel overlooking the Mediterranean. Built in the early 1900s, the historic luxury hotel offers a certain carefree elegance mixed with an intimate and relaxing ambiance. Join me for a look at this peaceful sanctuary as I take you through the stunning Diamond Suite.
I recently drove a Ferrari 488GTB to catch my private flight to London, but today I decided to take a black F458 Italia Spider, a similar car that has a little less horse power but is just as impressive. Black is black so it will never go out of style, and I can assure you it’s the perfect way to arrive at the prestigious Hotel Hermitage.
As I step out of the Ferrari, I’m rocking one of the dopest outfit I’ve shown you so far. I raided Society Cub Monaco’s Rick Owens collection, trying out this designer for the first time. You may recognize the name of the eccentric and super talented designer from California from all the buzz he creates during fashion shows.
Owens began his own label in 1994 in LA and later started showing his looks in Paris. Each piece offers that perfect blend of minimalism and functionality with unique detailing that you can see here with the stunning jacket I’m wearing. It’s light and sharp with a cool zip and collar effect, adding an extra dimension on top of my two T-shirt layers. The boots I chose are a must-have in any guy’s wardrobe—a strong look that’s also comfortable, with a wraparound zipper on the side adding that unique element I was taking about.
To top off the look, I needed a few accessories and Maor Cohen’s handmade jewelry was the perfect addition. Cohen draws inspiration from people and travel to curate a carefully made collection that’s both chic and spirited—the ideal match here. You already know how much I love sunglasses, and I’m currently obsessed with these new Thom Browne Tb 902 shades. My face is quite thin so not all shades look good on me, but these ones were the perfect fit, just light enough but also still interesting thanks to the gold finish.
It was still quite nice out when I arrived at the hotel so I decided to get some sun and scope out the surroundings. Part of the Hermitage’s allure is its premium location in the heart of Monaco and the Golden Square, just steps away from all the chic designer boutiques and casino.
Hotel Hermitage is one of my favorite luxury hotels in Monaco for a simple reason: its historic exterior and architecture is understated luxury at its finest. The hotel also has this cozy, cocoon-type feel that goes along with my personal taste.
I wanted to explore the hotel more once I got inside, so I decided to blend in with the grand and fabulous décor and wear something just as elegant: a black 3-piece Dolce & Gabbana suit that’s beautifully made and always a pleasure to wear. I love the combination of elegance from a sharp black tie and white shirt, with gold accents from the D&G buttons, watch and jewelry finishing off the look.
As you can see, I am wearing one of the iconic and easily recognizable FRED masterpieces, historical jewelry brand founded in Paris in 1936. To understand the power of the brand, it is important to mention Fred Samuel’s passion for sailing trickled down to his two sons, and one of them took the risk to design the very first FRED signature we all know, creating the timeless marine braided cable bracelet in 1966.
Today I’m sporting the iconic Force 10 collection bracelet, with both a yellow gold buckle and cable that’s completely customizable with interchangeable cables, buckles and finishes. On my other wrist you can’t miss the FRED Gladiateur Collector Chronograph watch with its 44mm pink gold case and black carbon fiber dial.
This exceptional timepiece, part of an exclusive 36-piece limited edition collection, will definitely enhance any man’s style and bring it to the next level.
What really caught my attention are the details on this watch, like the cabochon saphir on the crown, the engraved brand logo on the side of the case and the astonishing carbon design of the dial. The black cable-style rubber strap also plays on the original bracelet design and is extremely comfortable to wear.
Now let’s get back to the hotel. The Hermitage is filled with beautiful corridors and courtyards and one of my favorites is a long hallway with floor-to-ceiling old windows that let in a ton of light, which reflects beautifully off the décor. The windows look right out on to a large courtyard that feels more like you’re staying in a private mansion than a hotel, with its white marble floor and vintage streetlamps.
After my little tour I’m finally at the highlight and my whole reason for being here: The Diamond Suite with Jacuzzi.
This is really one-of-a-kind in Monaco with its massive terrace and private Jacuzzi overlooking the sea and harbor. All of these elements are what makes a stay here so unique and extraordinary. The only sounds breaking through the calm and quiet atmosphere come from the Jacuzzi sitting out on the teak terrace, which in itself is a mini paradise that’s perfect for sunbathing while taking in views of the Prince’s palace.
With my new Louis Vuitton sleek brown suit and warm beige shirt, my look captures the exact mood of terrace as I take a breath and realize just how beautiful this place is. On my feet, classic Louis Vuitton shoes are just the touch of class you need whether it’s day or night. And of course my FRED bracelet and watch match the ensemble perfectly.
What better way to enjoy this moment than with a bottle of Champagne in the Jacuzzi? As I step in the water, I feel myself relaxing and indulging in the charm of this magical spot in one of the most extraordinary suites in the principality.
