MONTE-CARLO BAY LAGOON
Considering the Riviera summer comes in ‘heat wave’ form this year, I am always looking for the best places to relax in Monaco and have a good, chill time – most preferably right by the pool, in case of the urge to dive in. And so naturally I chose the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel as ‘the one’, for my summer escape, especially with their spectacular Lagoon that we will explore later on.
With its four hectares of gardens and luxury by the sea, not to mention A Cinq Mondes SPA, multiple restaurants, casinos, the notorious Jimmy’z Sporting Monte-Carlo nightclub, pools, AND a sandy bottom lagoon … Monte Carlo Bay Hotel offers a whole new experience of a legendary destination.
Upon arrival at the Hotel, the overall atmosphere reminds of a grand private residence with its neo-classical architecture – my first wish was to head directly for the famous Lagoon.
Located between the Hotel and the sea, I was truly impressed by the density of the garden and its impeccable design. It seemed like we were no longer in Monaco, but escaping to a lush jungle paved with rocks, mesmerizing trees and waterfalls.
The beautiful Peninsula offers different spots where you can simply relax and unwind – some scattered around the pool, others more hidden between the lagoon’s vegetation, an Elegant “Garden of Eden” designed by Jean Mus.
With my classy Mazu Swimwear and colorful shirt, I took the time to walk around the area, exploring the location and finding some spectacular sun-beds to chill in and soak up the sunshine.
Speaking of my swimwear here, Mazu is a brand that I really like when it comes to high quality swimwear, creativity and play on color. As you may recall, I recently presented another Mazu piece during a previous photo shoot. Here, I am seen wearing the “Star Ferry”, rich blue tone shorts – the perfect, essential attire for one hot summer.
A design that seems simple but is in fact full of sharp finishes and delicate details that make all the difference. Made of a 100% soft-to-touch polyamide fabric, the shorts are stretch fabric and really comfortable to wear. Handcrafted and gilded aglets in a traditional monkey fist knot, each pair of shorts comes with its own canvas ditty bag for use on board or at the beach.
A ‘must-have’ accessory this summer – I had to bring my most stylish sunglasses, both for the aesthetic appeal and of course to keep well protected from the strong sun! Round sunglasses with tortoise frames, flat mirror lens with an anti-reflect coating, offering a superior 400UV protection – what more could you want? Who said practical and stylish cannot mix?
The Thom Browne TB-804 added an extremely sharp and fashionable touch to my style. Without a doubt one of my favorite shades, a revelation since the moment I wore them. The Walnut/Gold design with Wire-12k Gold Mesh Side Shields is truly one of a kind exquisite piece, handmade in Japan by skilled craftsmen.
Super comfortable, all the details are there accompanied by the Thom Browne signature three-colored tip, finishing the temples … now this is what I call elegant and luxury eyewear.
To complete my summer style, I added the fine sport Montblanc watch along with some additional accessories, all made of waterproof materials.
The black Montblanc Sport Chronograph Automatic is a timepiece, which I truly love and appreciate for its manly design and resistance. A high tech watch, it is a blend of masculinity and performance with its tough stainless case and black “Diamond Like Carbon” coating.
This unique chronograph is an ‘all black everything’ affair – enclosed in black case, with black bezel, black dial and black alligator leather strap in opposition to the bright lettering. All these details make the Montblanc Sport Chrono a strong item, yet classy to wear. Reliable in any life or sport situation, the convex sapphire glass ensures a comfortable time reading, even under water!
A masterpiece on its own, but even more accentuated when combined with Montblanc jewel accessories – a necklace made of 925 sterling silver including a pendant with a touch of black titanium and a leather bracelet, both offering a perfect combo in full black/silver style.
Ultimately, that is my take on the true men’s style – as hot as a Monaco summer!
I think it is the perfect timing for diving into the Lagoon with my Star Ferry Mazu Swimwear ...
