VILLA CAN LINEA
NEW LISTING AT 6.580.000€
Today I’m kicking things off in sunny Formentera, at the incredible Villa Can Linea. With a view of Ibiza and the stunning landscape of Cap de Barbaria, this property has so much to offer. The villa is currently for sale and I’m thrilled to share it with you before it changes hands!
To give you an idea of size the property sits on a 30,000sqm plot of land, which is perfect if privacy is an essential factor for you. Blending into the surrounding landscape, the villa is situated close to Cala Saona beach, although I doubt I’ll have time to visit as there is so much to explore inside!
PLOT OF LAND
Villa Can Linea consists of 2 buildings; the main villa (2 floors) and the dependence (1 floor). It is comprised of 7 double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and sea-views. An additional 2 bedrooms can be found on the basement level, which acts as staff quarters for the property’s housekeepers.
The overall design language of the villa is minimalistic – including the sleek furniture – which I absolutely love, and succeeds in its aim to remain somewhat unobtrusive with the surrounding landscape. The sense of freedom outdoors is continued within, thanks to an open-plan interior enhanced through its minimalism, allowing for an effortless flow from indoor living spaces out onto the multiple terraces.
One of my favourite aspects of the house is its outdoor terrace which we’ve made plenty of use of in the evenings, dining al-fresco as the sun disappears over the town of Ibiza. To fully appreciate the natural scenery, I like to head up onto the roof terrace; sometimes with a book, and sometimes with absolutely nothing at all. The 360° panoramic view of the island landscape and the sea is breath-taking and is the perfect place to relax when the sun starts to disappear.
BBQ & DINNER
Naturally this house comes with a pool, where I’ve spent most of my mornings as the sun’s intensity rises and a cooldown is required. As with the rest of the property, the positioning of the pool has been carefully considered, facing west to maximise the sunset views which can be experienced from anywhere in the villa. I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time here because of how in touch the villa is with its surroundings. It is the perfect retreat for couples, groups of friends, or family wishing to escape the bustle of town/city life and be at one with the Spanish countryside.
Accessing Villa Can Linea – which is listed for €6,580,000 – can be achieved through several less conventional means. The most obvious option is by sea, which is exactly what we did. Aboard our mid-sized yacht courtesy of LifeXperience and Inception Charter, the beauty of Formentera became truly apparent; the jaggedness of the coastline juxtaposing the calmness of the crystal clear water was a spectacular sight and one which I won’t forget! You can never go wrong with a boat day!
The second, more flamboyant method of arrival is by private helicopter which will carry you right to the island, however you will need having a special landing authorisation as the property is without a helipad, and the island is under strict regulation. Landing is only authorised on properties directly on the coast to avoid noise over private land (which is a good thing!). We arrived by boat and then had the immense pleasure to drive a remarkable vehicle, which was perfect for island life: A Classic 1976 Land Rover Serie 3. The perfect car to enjoy the roads of Formentera, feel the air, the sun without a roof behind the wheel of a super cool all-terrain.
LAND ROVER SERIE III
Villa Can Linea will definitely be missed, as our departure from here will also mark the end of a summer which was far too short, dominated by a lengthy lockdown period. Nevertheless, I look forward to returning to Formentera soon, and hope the next time I do things have returned to normal!
I hope you’ve enjoyed following this short escape, and I’ll see you soon…
